Lochlea is an independent, family-run distillery in the heart of Ayrshire. It is a distillery that is still in its early days and up until 2014, it was an operating dairy farm! Construction of the distillery began in 2017 and the distillery was commissioned in August 2018.  Many people get hung up on the age of a spirit and this old-school idea that a dram must be old to be appreciated. Tomatin 18 Yr Old Whisky Review

Today we will be having a look at the Tomatin 18 year old whisky. Tomatin is one my personal favourite distilleries, nestled 15 miles to the south of Inverness. Producing a diverse core range of single malt whiskies, from the very light and delicate 14 port finish to the robust and prickly cask strength. Also one of the better tour's available at a distillery. The 18 year old Tomatin is aged in traditional oak casks before a final maturation period in first fill Olorosso casks. Today we shall be having a look at a 25 year old single cask Tomatin, released by the good folks at Douglas Laing. Tomatin is one my personal favourite distilleries, nestled 15 miles to the south of Inverness.
