Laphroaig whisky has enjoyed huge popularity over the years, currently, the number one selling Islay malt whisky and in the top seven overall. This has lead Laphroaig to be inventive with its maturation to produce enough to keep up with demand. Over the years we have seen the Quarter Cask, the Triple Wood and special editions like the Lore.
The 10-year-old remains in the core range, most likely due to these other whiskies taking the pressure off. Laphroaig produces around 3 million litres a year of spirit.
