Islay is without question the most famous of Scotland’s Scotch whisky-producing Islands. So famous in fact that the Scotch Whisky Association gave it its own regional status - Islay. People often say that you will either love or hate the unique malts that are made here on this Island.
The island is famous for producing monsters of peat. Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Port Ellen to name but some of the world whisky heavyweights.
