Today we shall be having a look at the Cabal No1513 rum   From the Harpalion Spirits company, we have a blended rum from all over the Caribbean. This blend comprises aged rums from distilleries in Guatemala, Guyana, Trinidad, Panama, and the Caribbean. These rums are blended and after a secondary maturation period in Speyside in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, are bottled without chill-filtration at 43% ABV.   The nose is sweet initially. Today we shall be having a look at a mystery distillery bottling from the Duncan Taylor octave series.    Not much is known about the origin of this bottle, other than it has spent 10 years in oak casks and 9 months in a sherry octave cask.   A release of only 86 bottles, this was released without added colour or chill filtration at 53.7% ABV.   The nose opens with musty citrus, almost raisins resting in orange liqueur. Invergordon XOP 53 year old Grain Whisky, Douglas Laing, Review

Today we shall be having a look at a 53 year old single grain, single cask whisky from Invergordon distillery, released by Douglas Laing. Ground was broken for Invergordon distillery in 1959, and it began distilling whisky in 1961. Found in between Dalmore and Glenmorangie next to some of the most fertile farmland in the UK, thus insuring a wide range of different grains were available.
