The most famous of all the regions in Scotland for making Scotch malt whisky. Around half of all the distilleries in the country can be found in this area including some of the biggest names in the industry (Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenfarclas, Mortlach...to name a few).

The area is famous for producing fruity and sweet styles of whisky that have normally been aged in Oak from all over the world. It is very rare to see peated malts from Speyside.
