One of the first single malt whisky releases in the Last Great Malt's of Scotland range, the Craigellachie 17 year old. Craigellachie has long been a malt set aside mostly for blending apart from the odd independent bottling and the illusive Flora and Fauna bottling. Now allowed to shine in its own light, Craigellachie is shown to be a chunky, spicy single malt full of character. A great addition to the whisky world and to any whisky shelf.

  • Region: Speyside
  • Distillery: Craigellachie
  • Age/Name: 17 year old
  • Size: 70cl
  • Strength: 46% ABV
  • Bottled By: Distiller
  • Chill-Filtered: No
  • Nose: Apple crumble, melon and raisins. Honey'd barley, a little hint of smoke and vanilla ice-cream.

Palate: It opens very sweet with pineapple and custard creams, though the meatiness soon shines through. More smoke on the palate than the nose, with a touch of clove and oak.

Finish: Waxy and smoky on the finish.
