Dalmore Cigar Malt
As the name would suggest Dalmore would have you smoke a cigar to compliment the whisky, admittedly I think it does compliment it well! Mr Richard Patterson, the man at the helm of all things Dalmore for the last 50 years, suggests Partagás No. 2 and No. 4. This whisky is a selection of stock from 3 types of cask, American white oak ex-bourbon casks, 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts and premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks, with the average ages between 10 and 14 years. If you are a non-smoker this is also an excellent Malt to be savoured as a great after dinner tipple.
On the nose a wee different from most Dalmore’s - millionaire shortbread, some fresh espresso, on the palate caramel, orange, caramelised sugar not unlike crème brulee and on the finish quite mild some orange citrus hint of spice.
