Craigellachie 13 year old
One of the first releases in the Last Great Malt's of Scotland range, the Craigellachie 13 year old. Craigellachie has long been a malt set aside mostly for blending apart from the odd independent bottling and the illusive Flora and Fauna bottling. Now allowed to shine in its own light, Craigellachie is shown to be a chunky, spicy single malt full of character. A great addition to the whisky world and to any whisky shelf.
A complex nose with an almond sweetness and gentle spice on to the aroma of a spent match. A thick, oily palate has a hint of smoke, even though no peat was used through the process. This is balanced nicely with oak and winter fruits.
