Explore Whisky Regions and Buy Scotch Whisky
Come on a journey through the six whisky regions of Scotland, and taste the finest Scotch whiskies the country has to offer. There are six Scotch-whisky regions: Lowland, Highland, Speyside, Campbeltown, Islay and the islands.
Each region offers a different perspective on Scotch whisky, and we implore you to try them all.
Lowland
Famous for its soft and smooth malts, Lowland is world-renowned for crafting whiskies that are lighter in character and make for the perfect pre-dinner drink. Home of Auchentoshan, Glenkinchie and 1770 Peated.
Highland
This region offers a huge diversity of flavours and characters. You will find anything from lighter whiskies through to salty coastal malts. An excellent region for introductory whiskies, as well as classics for all palates. Home of Glenmorangie, Dalmore, Glendronach and Glengoyne.
Speyside
Known for its fruity and subtly peaty flavour whiskies, commonly matured in sherry casks. A popular region for its fertile glens and, of course, the River Spey. The home of Balvenie, Glen Grant, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Ardmore and Macallan.
Campbeltown
Varied and full of flavour, you can’t go wrong with a bottle from Campbeltown. Home of Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn and Glen Scotia.
Islay
The magnificent Islay is a special place where the majority of the island’s inhabitants are involved in whisky production. Famous all around the world for producing fiery, heavily peated whiskies, Islay is home to Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Port Ellen to name just a few.
Islands
There are over 800 islands off the coast of Scotland. Many are uninhabited, but some are home to distilleries producing fine whiskies. These islands offer a very diverse and different taste and are worth exploring. Home to Highland Park, Talisker and Jura, plus many, many more.
