Scotch whisky is malt or grain whisky made in Scotland. The country is world-renowned for its whisky-producing abilities, and millions come far and wide each year to visit the distilleries in which the finest Scotch whiskies are made. 

All Scotch whisky must be aged in oak barrels for at least three years. Any age statement on a bottle of Scotch whisky expressed in numerical form must reflect the age of the youngest whisky used to produce that product. A whisky with an age statement is known as guaranteed-age whisky.

Scotland has been producing whisky for many hundreds of years. Today, Scotland has over 115 different distilleries, some of which are working around the clock to create what must surely be the most famous style of whisky in the world.
