A favourite of the locals on Islay, in no small part to the large contribution to the islands economy, not to mention as an employer. Self proclaimed as the 'Progressive Inner Hebridean Distillery', Bruichladdich has looked at the terroir in there whisky, noting where in Scotland the barley has come from, in some cases even the name of the farm. Producing a range of spirit from un peated to the infamous Octomore, the Guinness World Record holder for peatiest single malt. Bruichladdich houses two sets of still, making around one and a half million litres of alcohol per year.
