Ardbeg An Oa
Ardbeg's newest core range bottling in the ultimate range, the 1st for nearly a decade as of 2017 - the An Oa.
A well balanced Ardbeg matured sweet Pedro Ximenez; spicy virgin charred oak; and intense ex-bourbon casks.
Named after the Mull of Oa located to the south west of the island of Islay.
This is a slightly more mellow fellow compared to some of its big brothers like Uigeadail
or Corryvreckan yet has still all the top qualities of the Ardbeg we know and love.
On the Nose- Rounded and smoky - like burning Apple-wood - with creamy toffee, aniseed, treacle and dates.
To Taste - Favours of milk chocolate, treacle toffee, aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves. Gentle, sweet spices (nutmeg & cinnamon), some cigar smoke.
To Finish - Lingering, seductive, gentle yet intense, with flavours of aniseed, hickory and distant subtle smoke
