Tullibardine 225, Single Malt Whisky, 70cl
Possibly the oldest distillery in Scotland, they have definitely been brewing since 1488, and still to this day. This single malt is finished in a 225 liter cask, (hence the name) which previously held maturing Sauternes dessert wine from Chateau Suduiraut.
Nose: Citrus peels and allspice. Notes of creamy vanilla, golden syrup, cocoa butter and black pepper.
Palate: Spiced palate entry with notes of candied orange and Seville marmalade. A little dried pineapple and white chocolate.
Finish: Medium finish with lingering sweet spices.
Overall: Superbly fruity whisky with a lovely influence from a dessert wine cask.
