Built in 1871 by Alexander Wilson, Inchgower is one of the few distilleries to have been owned by the local town council which stepped in to save the plant in 1936 when the Wilson family went bankrupt. Two years later, Arthur Bell bought it for the princely sum of £3,000. Today it is owned by Diageo and single malt releases are rather rare.

This is a single cask Inchgower from independent bottler Douglas Laing, matured in a refill hogshead for 12 years before being bottled in November 2019 as part of its Provenance series.

Rich barley and fresh citrus dominate the nose, allspice and thick golden syrup on the palate. Followed by a sweet, lingering stewed fruits finish.
