GlenDronach nestled away just outside of Huntly in the north east, GlenDronach is one of Scotland's oldest licenced distilleries, founded by James Allardice in 1826. Renowned for using high quality sherry casks, Glendronach has long been a favourite amongst connoisseurs.
nose:Sumptuous, rich sherry notes laden with prune juice leads to dark Muscovado sugar laced with waves of espresso, orange bitters and delicate hints of golden mint.
Palate: An initial sour plum crispness is backed by dark cocoa nibs warmed with touches of peppery aged oak, giving a classic, robust sherried depth. Maraschino cherries, roasted coffee beans, vibrant cedar wood and a deep stewed barley back note perfectly represent the traditional highland character.
