Glen Moray 16 year old
One of the best value for money malts around and so often and unfairly forgotten. Soon to be replaced by an older 18 year old, Glen Moray will loose it's iconic tin featuring Highand soldiers from different regiments.
Dried fruit mixed with chocolate and spices can be found in the whisky's aroma. With a dash of water, further notes emerge including barley sugar, a hint of oak smoke and a whiff of peat. On tasting, it is smooth with nuances of toffee and mint humbugs, while a smoky peat flavour comes later.
