Interestingly the whisky produced in this bottle was partially triple distilled. In this process the feints from the wash still, the weaker parts of feints of the spirit still, and the feints from the low wine still itself are distilled in a low wines still, while the spirit still is fed by the foreshots and the heart of the wash and low wine still, and its own foreshots and strong feints. This process however ended in 2007 and a more tried and tested method of 2 wash stills and 4 spirit still is now in place.
On the nose some dark fruit almost a whiff of smoke nothing severe, on the palate balanced and sweet again a hint of peat, on the finish dry and light.
