Ardbeg Traigh Bhan
Released in 2019, Ardbeg's Traigh Bhan single malt whisky is a 19 year old expression named after the local Traigh Bhan beach on Islay, sometimes known as the Singing Sands. The first core expression from Ardbeg in 20 years to be released with an age statement, this is an impressive dram that captures the character of the coastline brilliantly. It was drawn from a combination of American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, and has been bottled at 46.2% ABV.

Gentle ripples of smoky pineapple, soured cream, aromatic wood smoke and newly planed oak. Aromas of toffee, supple leather, sweet liquorice & tar draw you in. A drop of water release notes of struck flint, herbal, pine resin and coal tar. Citrus lime effervesces towards sweet vanilla cheesecake.
An intensely salty mouthfeel drifts into sweet and sour notes of smoked chilli chocolate and paprika. Surging waves of toasted oak and roasted tea leaves emerge, before subsiding to reveal fresh peppermint fondant and salted white chocolate.
Bold but soothing notes of aromatic wood smoke carry you into a long, lingering finish – resonating far beyond the glass.
