Ardbeg BizarreBQ Single Malt Whisky, 70cl

Where grilling meets distilling. This release from Ardbeg has been created as a collaboration project between Dr Bill Lumsden and DJ BBQ . They have created a BBQ inspired malt. To achieve this, they have combined whisky from three casks types: double charred oak casks, toasted Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and barbecue casks (heavily charred custom made casks).

Nose:  Puffs of charcoal, smoky wood and aromatic herbs and spices. Toffee, hickory smoked ham and cinnamon-dusted espresso rise up.

Palate: Mouthfeel is alive with spice, like BBQ ribs smothered in chilli. A myriad of deep, warming smoke follows close behind in flame-grilled steak, chilli oil, cured leather and clove. Ginger, aniseed and tar crackle on the palate with an aromatic woodsmoke edge.

Finish: Long, hot with grilled artichoke, black olives and smoke that slowly simmers away.
