Angel's Nectar Islay Single Malt

A marriage of casks from a mystery distillery on Islay, Angels' Nectar Islay Edition is a smoky, coastal single malt. It is released as part of the Angel's Nectar series from Highfern.

• The nose opens with a mixture of salty sea air and well cured salami. Sweetness comes in with a little patience. Touch of crème brûlée with lemon rind on the top. Peat flavour there although not over powering, more accenting the other flavours. Touch of water brings out a light floral note.

  
  

  The palate is initially fried seaweed, mixed with all butter pastry. The coastal character takes over though as the peat comes back in, although again, not heavy peat. The citrus note takes on an almost waxy quality after a little time in the glass. Touch of water brings out a vanilla pod like sweetness.

  
  

  The finish is long and surprisngly clinging for a bourbon cask with peaty salami left rolling around your mouth for hours after the final sip.
