The nose opens with a sweet smoke note, almost like honey but the smoke taking it towards the indescribable. Quickly settles into classic sherry notes such as raisins and ginger. Slight bitter citrus quality in the background. Somewhere between freshly squeezed orange juice and marmalade.
The palate continues the bitter citrus notes, counter balanced perfectly however with caramel/toffee sweetness. Smoke is prominent but is less of a flavour in its own right and more enhances every other flavour around it. A little time in the glass allows the citrus to die down a little, allowing gentle summer berries to come through.
The finish is medium long with sherry spice, fruit and a light hint of smoke being left behind after it has been sent down.
