Bowmore No. 1
The oldest distillery on Islay still in operation after opening its doors in 1779. Located in Bowmore, the largest town on the Island, which with a population of roughly 860 people is not saying much. This edition has been matured in first fill Bourbon casks, and is named after the famous No. 1 Vaults at the distillery, "with more maturing history than anywhere else in Scotland".
Vanilla fudge, sea air and peat smoke, balanced beautifully by honeycomb and cinnamon spice.
Citrus, gentle saltiness and vanilla with flakes of coconut.
