Nestled away just outside of Huntly in the north east, GlenDronach is one of Scotlands oldest licenced distilleries, founded by James Allardice in 1826. Renowned for using high quality sherry casks, Glendronach has long been a favourite amongst connoisseurs. They have now added the first peated whisky to their standard range.
The initial aroma from the whisky is of sweet citrus fruits, there is also a much richer note of cherries and burnt wood. The palate of the whisky brings a spicier taste, with all spice and honey. As the whisky tails off, there is a powerful taste of sweet malt.
