Nestled in the town of Doune, Deanston distillery is relatively new compared to its peers only opening its doors as a distillery in 1966. Beforehand the site had been a cotton mill founded by Richard Arkwright and had housed the largest water wheel in Europe. Today Deanston distillery still harnesses the power of the river Teith to power itself and many of the surrounding houses. This whisky is matured in Vintage Bordeaux Wine casks since 2008.
The nose brings sweet honey and burnt sugar, the red wine comes through with a little orange peel and subtle spice.
