Following maturation, this whisky was bottled at cask strength - a robust 62.4% ABV.

The nose opens with a lovely sweet, pasty, biscuit-y note. Subtle baked fruits, apples, pears, figs. Not overpowering despite the ABV. If left to open up in the glass for a little bit, more savoury notes start to come out. Essential oils, herbal tea's. Drop of water brings out vanilla and caramel like sweetness with a touch of summer berry.

The palate while not heavy, shows off the alcoholic strength. Sweet yet spicy, lightly tingles in the mouth. Biscuit notes from the nose are still there but combine with the spicy character to create an almost ginger nut note. Summer berries still there in the background. Touch of water softens the whisky but does take away slightly form the spicy character.

The finish is medium, spicy and tannic, nutty quality comes out that was not their previously. Leaves behind an oak note and something close to the smell of entering a dunnage warehouse after it has been sent down.
