Glen Moray was built in the heart of Elgin, a small town at the top of Speyside, the distillery often struggles with flooding due to its proximity to the Lossie river. Moray in fact comes from an old Gaelic word for flood plain or marsh land.
This is the latest edition to the Glen Moray portfolio. It replaces the 16yo. It is a mixture of only American Oak casks and is gaining a reputation for being an incredibly smooth malt.
Nose: Juicy apricot and yellow plum, with a glaze of honey.
Palate: Earthy vanilla arrives first, shortly followed by hints of lavender and sultanas.
Finish: Lingering notes of ginger and cinnamon.
