A limited edition singlt malt whisky,the Auchentoshan Valinch is a cask strength release of the Auchentoshan Classic expression, benefiting from the absence of both artificial colouring and chill-filtration, the Valinch is an untainted example of the distiller's art, as it might be found at the distillery, in cask, prior to the common interferences of the bottling process.
Homage is paid by the 'as-is' presentation and the use of the 'Valinch' moniker-in actuality the name for the long, spoon-like apparatus used at a distillery to extract small samples of whisky directly from the cask for inspection, whilst facilitating minimal disturbance to both cask and contents, as the Bung-the large plug on the cask side-need only be removed and replaced in order to use a Valinch.
Both nose and palate exude the Auchentoshan's signature, creamy character; opening on vanilla essence and quickly developing to a dry, rich, demerara sugar overtone chased by a warming, citrus spice and ginger note on the finish.
